Situation at U.S. Silica Holdings
EP Minerals, a U.S. Silica company, is one of the top producers and distributors of diatomaceous earth and Bentonite clay worldwide. The Company is headquartered in Frederick, Maryland and has offices located in Chicago, Illinois and Houston, Texas. U.S. Silica Holdings acquired EP Minerals in 2018 and following the acquisition, U.S. Silica inherited the Salesforce application used by the EP Minerals sales, customer service, and operations teams.
U.S. Silica needed to manage and streamline the overlapping business teams and processes between the two companies through assessing their current investment in both Salesforce orgs, considering the users’ current work streams and data requirements. Other objectives included:
- Migrate to a single Salesforce organization
- Standardize and automate workflows across sales, customer service, and operations teams
