William Lyon Homes’ corporate team struggled with sharing accurate customer data between seven disparate divisions operating with different processes and systems. This disconnectedness resulted in inaccurate customer data, critically affecting the company’s prospecting activities.
The sales team also experienced difficulties with its CRM system, which lacked integration with its Enterprise Resource Planning system, JD Edwards (JDE). Sales leads were tracked entirely on conjecture, using paper processes, then manually entered into two separate systems. This routinely resulted in inconsistent contract creation and execution, as well as the inability to access customer information needed to anticipate customer behavior and improve sales and marketing results.
