Realtor.com uses Zuora application for revenue management, billing, collections, quoting and revenue recognition, but due to the limitations of the application Realtor sought to replace it with Oracle. Realtor wanted to automate the complex revenue processes to produce consistent and accurate revenue data quickly and easily.

Other challenges Realtor sought include:

  • Mapping of Zoura functionality with Sales Force and RMCS for revenue recognition approach with values permutation and calculations.
  • Solutioning to accommodate high volume of Zoura data with one-time load and monthly, quarterly and half yearly data incremental loads.

Considering the business requirements of Realtor, AST recommended the Quantity Model for solutioning various requirements. AST found it not feasible to use the ‘Period’ satisfaction measurement model because the revenue recognition process was not able accomplish the customer desired functionalities.

AST provided solution which enabled the customer to hold revenue recognition till the cash was received and applied to the invoice. Since, the quantity model was not automated, AST defined the prototype of all transaction happening in Salesforce. Based on Billing Revenue cycle, the entries are created in RMCS and recognized as per the accounting period. Realtor team recognize revenue in two ways based on billing and on collection received against the billing.
