Let’s congratulate Priya C. for becoming AST’s Employee of the Month for January 2015.

Priya has been the “go to” person in troubleshooting and resolving interface issues throughout UAT and post production support in HR and OAB. Notwithstanding, she has been working on complex layouts for vendors and has dealt with the client well. We appreciate her can-do attitude, and her client and colleagues appreciate her hard work, dedication and congenial attitude.  Keep up the good work Priya!

One of the largest Public Sector Utility Companies in North America has announced the successful completion of their Oracle WebCenter project, which automates and improves invoice processing capabilities for the organization.  The new system went “live” in November 2014, and was a collaborative effort between the organization, Oracle and AST Corporation.  The following key objectives and cost savings were achieved:
  • Eliminated the need for long-term storage of paper Payables documents
  • Reduced manual data entry with Oracle’s Forms Recognition intelligent data extraction and OCR
  • Automated exception processing and decreased overall processing time
  • Leveraged a single content repository
  •  Enabled authorized users to access invoices and other supporting content directly from within Oracle E-Business Suite
  • Improved and streamlined line-pairing, taxes and freight allocation
Architecting and deploying an enterprise-wide paperless process for receiving and approving Accounts Payable invoices was a strategic initiative for the future growth and expansion.  “We are very proud of our accomplishments, the combined efforts of our client, AST and Oracle teams ensured a very successful implementation,” said Tim Brocker, Senior Practice Manager at AST Corporation, “AST’s WebCenter technology expertise and E-Business Suite experience were key success factors in this implementation.”

erp-cloudLouis Columbus, a Forbes contributor, explains why ERP Cloud Adoption rates will surpass estimates by Gartner, particularly in manufacturing industries.  He includes a recap of Gartner’s Cloud ERP study. At AST, we have been watching ERP Cloud adoption rates closely and our experience aligns with Gartner’s analysis, however Mr. Columbus makes some excellent observations about two-tier solutions and other factors that are increasing adoption rates.

On Monday, December 22, 2014 AST staff gathered in the home office to participate in a White Elephant Gift Exchange.  Gifts ranged from the useful to the absurd.  One participant offered cash to anyone willing to “steal” his gift.  It was fun to gather with our friends and colleagues to celebrate the holiday season.  Later in the day, many gathered in the training room for wine and cheese.
