We are counting down to AST’s Birthday by celebrating a year’s worth of holidays in one week!

Beginning on Monday, July 13th, we will celebrate Valentine’s Day, Halloween, St. Patrick’s Day, New Year’s Eve, and Christmas all in one week, leading up to AST’s 20th Birthday on Tuesday, July 21st

The celebrations throughout the week at our home office in Naperville will be complete with the exchange of Valentines, a costume contest, candy (lots of candy), green Kool-Aid(we are still at work…), a 12Noon countdown and celebration, and a White Elephant gift exchange.

The AST Sales and Marketing team is pleased to announce that we have moved our marketing collateral distribution to an electronic system.  The new system was unveiled in April at Collaborate15 and usage has been growing ever since.
The new tool, called Vablet, is a cloud-based solution that enables access to our marketing resources from hand-held devices, such as phones and tablets.  Our Sales Executives and our Practice Delivery Leaders can now send copies of our materials (e.g., Case Studies, Data Sheets, Press Releases, White Papers, etc.) as email attachments.  The solution is capable of sending multiple pieces in a single email, has an “offline” mode and integrates with our CRM system.

Vablet has drastically reduced the number of collateral pieces we print for use at trade shows, and offers us an on-demand approach that is technology-driven and familiar to customers.  We are excited to be modernizing our marketing processes and decreasing our ecological footprint at the same time!

Oracle has made radical changes and developments in its hardware and software offerings. In the last quarter, we have seen a significant shift to cloud computing in Oracle’s offerings.  The business software giant has expanded on its Customer Experience suite of applications by releasing Commerce Cloud, a specialized and feature-rich suite specifically designed for e-commerce.  This offering allows the implementation and deployment of a fully customizable storefront across both desktop and mobile devices. Oracle has also released the fifth generation of its Exadata line of converged servers, which combines data storage and networking in a single product, along with applications and middleware, which can be utilized via the cloud or on premise.

These new offerings streamline the decision-making process for any organization migrating to Oracle, or current users who seek a cloud-based strategy. Supporting the move is Oracle’s aggressive pricing as it competes in a full market. The increased flexibility and appeal of its software-as-a-service and platform-as-a-service, combined with the host of new products, represent a major increase in the speed with which implementations can be achieved.  Furthermore, this makes middleware development and deployment much easier and reduces the cost of managed service options for customers.

Earlier this year, we discussed Oracle’s shift towards the cloud increasing its market share.  Now, with the closing of the most recent quarter and the company’s announcement of these and other new offerings, we see these predictions begin to transpire. Oracle’s most recent releases represent a huge step forward and expansion in its strategy, which are notable benefits to both customers and partners.
Jonathan Vanian discusses Oracle’s migration to cloud computing, and how competition in this arena challenges Oracle to become an even better software provider here.

hyperion-implementation
Over the past 9 weeks, we have guided you through the steps necessary to find success in your Hyperion implementation project.  While you may have found success in following our recommendations, it is equally important to maintain forward momentum with your project. Having the right support model can enable you to have continuous support and guidance from the stakeholders.  There may be issues arising as your team adopts the new system, such as bugs and issues that were missed during the testing phases.  This is common in the world of software implementations, but you can mitigate your risk by ensuring that you have a support framework ready to care for these needs.
We recommend extended support from your implementation partner, as well as support from the software vendor. It is helpful to have a period of stabilization during which your partner has agreed to support your business activities, along with any bugs or issues that arise. Continuing to work with that team and its key members will ensure that a proper transition phase is in place.
Now that we have guided you through a successful Hyperion implementation project, we hope you will continue to use these recommendations in future projects and find success there, also.  Thank you for following this series, and stay tuned for additional informative AST Blog series in the future.

modern-marketing
Traditional marketing schemas, such as direct mail, gave a modicum of control to marketing organizations.  Today, with a variety of communication channels such as the internet, email, and social-media, customers are in control of the messages they view and absorb. Marketing professionals have had to adopt Modern Marketing techniques to keep up with this drastic change.
Most organizations have taken a slow-but-steady approach to changing their marketing paradigms.   Having the right technology to gather and capture data on customers and their needs is crucial. Today’s customers are fast-paced, and Marketing teams struggle to distribute relevant information to appropriate customers in real-time. Making decisions on which expensive marketing technologies to purchase is not easy, as the ROI cannot be easily or instantly calculated.
Another huge challenge is how to gather information about customers. Understanding a customer’s digital body language includes knowing their searches, and understanding what they do on mobile, social and on the web. Capturing this complex and intricate data is not possible with just any marketing technology, but rather those with very high levels of automation and orchestration.  Oracle Marketing Cloud is one product that proves that Modern Marketing truly does return on the investment. Innovative tools capture customer data and ensure that the right type of marketing can be sent to the right customers in real-time.
