Certified_Check-2BMarkOur growing family of team members has rung in the New Year with a bang by earning over 100 new Oracle Certifications, and they don’t show any sign of slowing down in 2017!  Oracle Certifications allow our expert consultants to prove their skills by completing complex examinations in a variety of specialty areas.  This allows our teams, and AST as an organization, to provide expert services to our clients and bring the latest knowledge and skills to each project.

Congratulations go to the following groups on their achievements:

  • AST’s Enterprise Performance Management (EPM) Team – 9 new Certified Professionals
  • AST’s Managed Services Team – 9 new Certified Professionals
  • AST’s Sales and Marketing Team – 9 new Certified Professionals
  • AST’s Business Intelligence (BI) Team – 8 new Certified Professionals
  • AST’s Project Management Office (PMO) – 2 new Certified Professionals
  • AST’s Middleware Team – 1 new Certified Professional
  • AST’s Customer Relationship Management (CRM) Team – 1 new Certified Professional

Last, but certainly not least…AST’s Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) team has earned 95 (NINETY-FIVE!) new Oracle Certifications this month, with one outstanding team member (Balaji T.) earning 22 of those!

Congratulations, again, to everyone on these fantastic achievements!  That’s over 130 new Oracle Certifications, and January isn’t even half over yet!  Can we reach 1,500 by the end of the year?!

The FSS brings together federal financial managers and private-sector executives to discuss the prospects of federal financial management systems in a budget-constrained environment.  The summit will provide new insights into the growing federal financial systems modernization strategy over the coming decade, and beyond!

shutterstock_280349987In an enlightening article written by Oracle’s Bob Rhubart, members of the Oracle Architect community reflect on the technological evolution that 2016 has presented, and how this has forced them to adapt and evolve in their careers – a positive, but eye-opening experience for most.

Rhubart states, “…in nearly every human endeavor, what you plan to do will ultimately bear only limited resemblance to what you actually end up doing. Professional philosophers refer to this phenomenon as life.”

Among those quoted in the Oracle Magazine November 2016 article is AST’s own Abhay Kumar, Oracle ACE and Senior Principal Consultant on the AST Middleware team.  Kumar “reports that microservices have become a part of most of the architectural discussions in which he has participated. ‘Breaking monolithic machines into small, modularized components that are highly fault-tolerant and self-healing has been the talk of the enterprise,’ he says.”

Facing necessary course corrections is something we all face, in our careers, at home, and throughout everyday life.  As we wrap up 2016, it’s helpful to reflect on those detours we were forced to take during the year and the lessons they have conveyed.  Additionally, as we open a new chapter with 2017, remember that your vision for the year will likely look very different in December of 2017 than it did in January.

Jamie is being recognized for her tireless work ethic and the quality service she provides the clients to which she is assigned.  Jamie was invaluable to her most recent account, where she became the trusted project lead and was instrumental in supporting their upgrade.  As a consummate team player, she assimilated well with her team, even while being relied upon as a technical expert and leader.  The client project manager expressed high praise for Jamie, and said they were lucky to have her available to help them with their BI Apps upgrade.
